Reno, NV - COMMON Conference & Expo - April 26, 2009 - inFORM Decisions, leading provider of Document and Banking Automation software, launches a powerful utility - iDocs SmartRouter™ - that allows users to more clearly define how to process and distribute individual pages of a spool file. With SmartRouter, intelligent document processing is taken to a higher level with this menu-driven document management tool to filter, direct and re-direct spooled reports and business documents.
inFORM Decisions was founded in 1994 to provide powerful utility solutions to address the growing need to efficiently manage paper workloads in all aspects of the enterprise. Managing custom electronic forms and reports, faxes, bar codes, electronic documents and MICR check-printing is the subject of significant interest by organizations wishing to reduce operating costs rapidly.
Upping the ante in intelligent document distribution, the company now offers iDocs SmartRouter as a standalone software module that offers significantly higher levels of testing and filtering options for reports and business forms. Users of iDocs SmartRouter can filter, direct or re-direct output, burst, sort and group reports and forms based on either spool file attributes and/or spool file content.
The point of this software module is to allow users to define smart distribution options for their documents on a page-by-page basis for a spool file.

The illustrations show two of the primary screen shots from the SmartRouter product. One or more Target Definition screens are defined for each SmartRouter Application. The Application filters which spool files will be examined. The Target Definition screen defines how and where the spool file pages will be sent. The Internal/External Tests screen defines the page filters that determine the extraction and distribution of pages to specific targets. Target Definition screen options include burst and/or sort, and the routing to printer output queues, email outq's, fax outq's. Once the spool file has been processed with any variations of the above, it can be routed to the iDocs engine for graphic form merges, and other document management functions.
Description
iDocs SmartRouter is a standalone module that offers tests and filters to draw out the specific pages of spool files to be directed to specific targets. Along the way, spool file attributes may be overridden, and individual pages of a report or business form can be burst, sorted, grouped, bundled and ultimately directed to a target, which can again be redirected.
In addition to intelligent spool file bursting and sorting, the resulting individually-selected pages can be routed directly into inFORM's iDocs Suite products to be merged with business form graphics, converted to PDFs, emailed, faxed, and stored in inFORM's iView Web-based archive retrieval solution. A complete, intelligent, electronic document management system is the result.
According to Forster, "The new SmartRouter capability makes it a lot easier for an organization to go paperless and realize almost immediate cost savings."
